Organiser’s Comments

Thank you to all who turned out at Nomansland today for this latest Saturday Series event. The weather was close to perfect for running, if marginally on the breezy side but given how May has been, a dry event was the main thing.

The vegetation is up at this time of year, but the wooded side of Nomansland deals with it very well and is still very runnable, whilst the long grass on the Common side requires just that little extra bit of effort.

Oliver’s courses were well received and made the most of the wooded side of the road and we had a good proportion of juniors in today’s runners, including some newcomers (welcome to them).
All ran smoothly on the day thanks to, as always, the HH volunteers. The event can’t happen without them and with two road crossings to man, Nomansland is a little heavier on helpers than other events. Therefore, big thanks to all who helped.

Thanks also to Will for letting us use West End Farm. The event couldn’t go ahead without this as an event centre, with parking, and we’re very grateful to be able to come back year after year.

See you next month for the Yvette Baker Trophy Final at Northaw Great Wood or at one of the Tuesday Street-O events (next one on Tuesday at Welwyn Garden City).
